The hotel gives South Main, a Traditional Neighborhood Development in Buena Vista planned by Dover Kohl, a large public building with a clear base and top. River rock wraps the ground floor. White upper floors rise above it behind deep galleries with iron rails, under a dark, wide eave.

Arched windows, timber brackets and an iron balcony keep the big wall readable at the scale of a person on the sidewalk.

Inside, the stone follows you in. A rock chimney anchors a dark lounge, and timber corbels spring from a stone pier into a tall, bright room lined with a long bar, globe pendants and full height windows. Deep teal millwork and a brick floor mark the front desk.
