Bodega is a restaurant at St. Philips Plaza in Tucson, and much of it happens outdoors. A thick white wall with arched openings and lantern niches shapes the patio, and a heavy timber pergola runs above it. White curtains hang between the posts.

Indoors, a white wall runs along one long side above a row of tufted banquettes. Mirrors in ornate white frames and small chandeliers repeat down the room, under a dark exposed ceiling. High tables and metal stools fill the other side.

A curtained lounge gathers low seating around a fire. The section and sketch show how the pergola and thick walls were worked out by hand, in relation to the building next door and the trees.
