A steep wooded lot sets the terms here. The house climbs the slope in layers, with a heavy base holding the grade and a tall tower with a pyramid roof marking the corner. A large gable covers the middle of the house, and porches run across the faces that look out over the drop.
The color rendering shows the house among bare trunks, its dark walls and pale metal roofs reading quietly against the woods. The pencil elevations give the fuller story. On the downhill side, tiers of porches stack above a row of piers, and the side views trace the fall of the ground from one end to the other.
Plans follow the curve of the road at the corner of the lot, with rounded rooms at the tower end and a small octagonal room at the top.
