South Main is a 40-acre Traditional Neighborhood Development in Buena Vista, Colorado, planned by Dover Kohl, where Kenny Craft serves as Director of Design.

As Director of Design, Kenny oversees all aspects of design and implementation, upholding the standards through design review and construction observation. The portfolio shows 25 built projects there, including houses, row houses, the Urban Flats, the Sundance Live/Work, the Surf Hotel and the Surf Chateau.

The aim is a South Main Style, a locally distinct character suited to its place. As early as 2007, Public Square, the journal of the Congress for the New Urbanism, noted Kenny’s changes to the exteriors of Marianne Cusato’s Katrina Cottages to fit local Mountain West characteristics. More recently, a block at Buzz Boulevard and South Main Street, first drawn as five townhouses with river rock bases, reclaimed brick and steel balconies, became four detached houses that keep the idea of common materials.

South Main, a development concept from Jed Selby, won the 2016 Wright Award for its collaborative spirit, strong vision and a commitment to craft.
